Informaticons

What in the world is an informaticon?

Informaticon is a word I've coined. It means a provocative quote, statistic, or piece of data -- something that's new or revealing or offers a different perspective on things. Informaticon comes from the word informatics, a term for "information science."

You may have noticed that we have informaticons scrolling by on our home page. We'll also be adding them to the archives every week or two.

If you come across any informaticons that you'd like us to consider posting, just e-mail us at editor@metaforix.com.
