Who we are.

Metaforix is the fulfillment of a vision
conceived and nurtured by Lois Ambash during many years as an innovator and developer of client-focused services in organizations whose cultures seemed determined to remain focused on the past.

The vision: to help organizations and individuals embrace change, take risks, and take charge of the future.

Metaforix was founded by Lois C. Ambash, PhD, in 1998
to help organizations and individuals achieve their goals in an environment of rapid and continuous change.

Before founding Metaforix, Lois spent more than twenty years in a variety of roles in public higher education, in colleges affiliated with the State University of New York. She has served as dean, program director, teacher, reference librarian, and consultant.

In those capacities, Lois created a number of educational programs "from scratch" and then implemented and managed them. The most rewarding of these was a comprehensive program that allowed adults to earn college credit based on workplace, community, and individual learning.

Lois holds a PhD in American Culture and Writing, along with Master's degrees in Public Policy and Library/Information Science and a Bachelor's degree in English. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of University Women, the Corporate University XChange, the Council on College Composition and Communication, the Internet Healthcare Coalition, the National Association of Female Executives, and Working Today.

A regular contributor to Briefme.com and Vault.com, Lois is producer of the metaforix.com site. She also edits the free "Metaforix Mail" e-letter. Lois also writes and speaks frequently about the Internet, both as a business tool and as a cultural phenomenon.

with a diverse group of associates, whose skills and experience encompass business, organizational development, graphic design, healthcare, education, and career management. Our associates' involvement varies according to the requirements of specific clients and projects.
